Carmen Della Rocca’s story starts in Colwin and Morton, PA, where his grandfather — a tradesman with a huge influence on his life — sparked his fascination with building things. While most high schoolers were choosing electives, Carmen was spending half his day in a vocational building‑trades program and working for a family friend’s contracting business. By the time he discovered Williamson College of the Trades, he already knew exactly what he wanted. Three years later, degree in hand, he jumped into the field as a carpenter, moved into a field supervisor role, and eventually explored every corner of the construction world through a GC rotational program. Estimating was the one that stuck. After a stretch in big‑corporate construction, Carmen realized he wanted something more personal — a place where he could actually know the people he worked with. Enter Caritas, and five years later, he’s still here, still energized, and still living by the Williamson lesson he swears by: show up early, work hard, and give one hundred percent.

At Caritas, Carmen thrives in the kind of culture you can’t fake — one where people genuinely care about each other, and teamwork isn’t just a buzzword. He collaborates closely with Wendy, who he sees as a mentor with decades of wisdom. “Carmen and I have worked closely together for several years, and I’ve always appreciated the collaborative relationship we’ve developed. We bring different strengths and perspectives to the Pre-Construction process, and I think that has allowed us to work well together and continue strengthening the department,” says Wendy.

Carmen’s favorite projects reflect both growth and heart: the massive Riverside job, which pushed him and the company to the next level, and Temple Hospital’s Gamma Knife project, which made a direct impact on cancer patients. For him, those moments — when construction becomes something bigger than the building itself — are the ones that stick.

Outside the office, Carmen is all about good experiences and good company. He loves the shooting range, video games, and concerts, and his lineup of artists is basically a bucket list: Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews Band, and more. But his favorite adventures are with his wife, Taylor, and their children Sadie and Naz — exploring parks, trying new restaurants, visiting the zoo and aquarium, and taking weekend trips to the beach. One day, he hopes to travel to Greece and Italy, which feels like the perfect next chapter for someone who appreciates craftsmanship, culture, and a good adventure.
