TEAM SPOTLIGHT
June 2026
If you’ve spent even a day on a Rendell or Caritas jobsite, you’ve probably crossed paths with Lou Narke — and if you have, you definitely didn’t forget it. A proud Conshy boy through and through, Lou’s path into construction wasn’t exactly traditional. In fact, according to his ASVAB results, he was destined for the priesthood. But fate had other plans. He walked out of the priest’s office, spotted a sign for tech school, and just like that, construction won.
Lou’s early education was a mix of high school, blueprint‑reading night classes, and the kind of on‑the‑job training you can’t get from a textbook. His spark for the industry came during a senior-year class project building a house for the homeless — the first time he saw how his hands could directly impact someone’s life. That feeling stuck.
His first official construction job was as a laborer on an apartment project, where he learned one of his earliest lessons: don’t take crap from anyone. From there, Lou carved out a career that’s as varied as it is impressive — house framer, foreman, a stint at PennDOT learning heavy equipment, then back into ground‑up construction before eventually landing at Rendell… as part of what he lovingly calls a “package deal.” According to Lou, they “didn’t have the heart to fire him,” so they kept him around. Lucky for us.
Over the years, Lou has mastered every trade from start to finish, but the biggest turning point in his career wasn’t technical — it was personal. He learned to treat people the way he wanted to be treated, and if he wouldn’t do a job himself, he wasn’t going to ask someone else to do it. That mindset is a big part of why his teams trust him.
At Rendell and Caritas, Lou thrives on the variety — the people, the projects, the challenges. He collaborates most closely with Dan and Todd, two quick learners he’s proud to teach “how to do it right.” Todd Seybold, Project Executive, says, “Lou brings steady leadership and unwavering dedication to our projects, clients, subcontractors, and team. His broad expertise, sharp attention to detail, and decisive problem‑solving keep our sites running smoothly and our clients confident. He is equally committed to mentoring the next generation of superintendents, generously sharing the practical knowledge he’s built throughout his career.”
Ask him to pick a favorite project and he won’t — because to Lou, each one brings its own unique challenge, and that’s what keeps the work exciting. As for his role? He’ll tell you he’s “the head babysitter,” and that everything runs smoothly if you set a good schedule. (Spoiler: he sets a good schedule.)
When he’s off the clock, Lou is all outdoors, all the time — fishing, hunting, trapping, golfing, riding ATVs, and playing bocce. His favorite way to unwind is taking his dogs out to the fields for training. He’s also a cook, an ATV racer, and a guy with a bucket-list dream of hunting and fishing in Alaska.
But his proudest title? Dad and Pop. Lou has two sons, Joey and Danny, and two grandkids, Logan and Lyla.
Lou brings grit, humor, heart, and decades of hard-earned experience to every jobsite — and Caritas and Rendell are better because he’s here.
