TEAM SPOTLIGHT

March 2026

If you ask Zach Tauber where his story begins, he’ll tell you it started in Chester Springs, PA—somewhere between his mother’s love of architecture and his father’s love of history, and the many afternoons spent doodling, drawing, and helping her bring creative home projects to life. That early blend of curiosity, craft, and hands‑on problem‑solving eventually led him to Penn State’s five‑year Architectural Engineering program, where he earned his master’s degree and set the foundation for a career that would bridge both the technical and human sides of construction.

Zach’s first professional chapter unfolded as a structural engineer, working at the firm where he had interned. He earned his engineering license and dove deep into the technical world—but something kept tugging at him. He wanted to see more, understand more, and be part of the full arc of a project, not just one slice of it. That turning point arrived with a phone call from someone who had shaped his early career: Nate Tayoun. Zach had worked under Nate during college, and when Nate launched his own firm, he reached out with an opportunity that would change Zach’s path. In February 2020, Zach stepped into project management—and never looked back.

(Quote from Nate here.)

Since stepping into project management, Zach has grown into a leader who genuinely thrives on learning. He’ll tell you that one of his favorite parts of being at Caritas is the constant chance to stretch—whether it’s technical problem‑solving, interpersonal communication, or the day‑to‑day art of managing people and projects. His closest collaboration is with Nate, whose influence has shaped much of Zach’s approach. Over the years, the two have developed such a natural rhythm that they often find themselves arriving at the same solution at the same moment—two minds working through challenges with the same instinct and clarity.

Among the many projects he’s touched, one stands out above the rest: the linear accelerator gamma knife project at Temple Hospital. It was complex, high‑stakes, and deeply meaningful. Working in an active oncology unit, Zach and the team were reminded daily of the people whose lives would be impacted by the space. Meeting patients, seeing their resilience, and understanding the urgency of the work made the project unforgettable. Other impactful projects like JEVS and Ruth Street hold importance too, but Temple offered a rare, immediate connection to the individuals who would benefit from the team’s efforts.

Outside of work, Zach is a blend of creativity and calm. If it involves golf, he’s in—whether playing, watching, or even volunteering at the PGA Championship. He still loves to draw, design, and dream up spaces, and he unwinds with a glass of bourbon or whiskey, a guitar in hand, or a good movie or show. Travel is another passion, especially anywhere rich in culture, food, and history. Italy remains a favorite, but his list of future destinations is long and growing.

And in the midst of all this, Zach is gearing up for one of life’s biggest milestones: he’s getting married this summer to his fiancée, Jenna.

Thoughtful, steady, and endlessly curious, Zach brings a rare mix of technical expertise, creativity, and heart to every project—and to the Caritas/Rendell team as a whole.
